Springfield, MO Meet

Does anyone have any interest in a Springfield Meeting? That way when the time comes we can travel to the Board Meet as a group. Sounds like we found a good place. Check the link!

The Hot rod magazine Power Tour took over the parking lot behind the Bass Pro shop for their get together a few years back. the fair grounds are usually used up during the summer months. Springfield sounds good, but for those that don't live close, the cost is gonig to be growing. I live about 150 miles from Sprihngfield and could make it easily.

Re: Springfield, MO Meet

springfield is a good place to meet, there is a older mall, on the north side, that has large parking spaces and very little stores , so lots of room, corner of Glenstone and Kearney, I will be going back roads so wont make it there from KC, but another idea would be Lebanon, If your coming from the north or east, but with springfield you can head down 60 Hwy to the meet

Re: Springfield, MO Meet

Taking US 71 from KC south to Harrisonville, then MO 7 to Clinton, and MO 13 to Springfield is the easiest way to get from KC to Springfield IMO. It is mostly 4 lane, may be all 4 lane now (haven't driven it in a few years and they were working on it).

Re: Springfield, MO Meet

I normally take MO 7 to clinton as well, then down to Collins and East on 54 then I go South on 65 at Preston, (sometimes just east on 7 to Warsaw and Down 65, then turn East again on 64 at Louisburg, got east on 64 past Bennet Springs (great fishing there) to Lebanon, its not all 4 lane, but less miles and faster then going through springfield and then down I44, especially if your coming from Warrensburg or eastern KC area, but again from springfield you go down to 60 hwy to norwood. and taking 13 from Clinton is almost all 4 lanes now, execpt for about 15 miles...

Re: Springfield, MO Meet

I have been to Bennet many times, I will probably go that way myself but I am not sure what the best way to go will be from Lebanon.
I think just in case I get lost I better bring my fly rod.

Re: Springfield, MO Meet

There is only like 4 miles of two lane on 13 left at collins,mo. I run it 5 times a week. hope to see everyone at norwood. From Lebanon just head down hwy 5 to mansfield then east on hwy 60 and your there.

Re: Springfield, MO Meet

Well I don't have a truck anymore, but I'll try and make it to the monthly meeting in Springfield. Hopefully some of you make it there also and we can make a plan to travel to the board meet as a group.(In the midwest region forum, there's another thread on this. There is a meeting the first saturday of the month.)

Hmm, less than two months I've got my fingers crossed hoping you'll find another truck by then, I'll be on the look out for one for you.
