Anyone using 3rd Gen Camaro front sway bar??

I was wondering if anyone has used a 3rd Generation Camaro front sway bar on their truck?

I have a 68 and was hoping to install this on my truck.

Did you have to modify the bar to fit???? If so, what did you modify?

Have any pictures of what you did?? Please post them if you could.

Thanks alot guys.
CHRIS

Why? Just get an 1 1/4" bar from a 73-87 truck in the junkyard and bolt it in, no fabrication, no hassles.

Would you happen to have a picture of the 1 1/4" bar that you describe?

I think I have one of those but want to make sure.

thanks

No, but it is standard fare on some 3/4 ton and most one ton 73-87 trucks. I just have the stock 1 1/8" swaybar on my truck, which is more than sufficient IMO, or at least not worth the trouble to upgrade.

The first one came off the camaro can be easily modified to fit perfectly.

The second one is a stock bar that came off my friend CST.

Just thought I would show you guys the difference in the size of these bars

Pics are kinda large. I do appoligize as I didnt have time to downsize them.

thanks

I would just go to the bone yard and get yourself a 1 ton truck swaybar. It's a bolt on affair.

Well the only thing is that first bar is a bar off a 1 ton truck. And just by looking at it it is not just a bolt on affair. Right?

Maybe it has to be a different year to just bolt right on.

thanks

I am going to be putting a camaro rear sway bar on my truck. All of the stuff I have had to make to get it to fit, I did a few extra, so as soon as I get it finished and find out what all has to be done, I will have a few kits to sell with the parts to do it. If you go to get one, make sure you get an IROC one, because they are quite a bit thicker than the normal ones. If anyone is interested, PM me and I will let you know when I get it done. I got the idea to do it from another board member, but I am not sure who it was. Maybe low69cst?
