Re: How about some pics of gauge set ups

there are a few guys on here including me that have done the autometer swap, really clean looking in my opinion, you can find some threads on this by using the search on this site. How custom do you want to get? there are some guys that have put 60s style metal dashes in their trucks too. looks awesome but im not that handy with that kind of metal work.

Re: How about some pics of gauge set ups

I'm a fan on keeping it stock. my favorite gauge setup although the big fuel gauge aids in depression at the pump.

Re: How about some pics of gauge set ups

There's nothing trick about this, but I like a 3 3/4" tach mounted next to the driver's A-pillar. This is my third K5 and I've always put it there. The only thing missing in the pic is the factory clock that goes in the low and left hole. I have one I got off ebay but haven't installed it yet.

I have some reservations about the AutoMeter gauges behind the factory bezel, some things I don't like. Same with the factory tach set up. This works for me. <shrug?> There's a bunch of ways to work it.

Re: How about some pics of gauge set ups

Auto meter swaps are good different dash panels etc, not in to the 55 chevy dash in to the truck, don't get me wrong they look great, they are just way outside my skill range to attempt

what kind of material/techniques did you use for the black panels and how did you cut it. looking to do something similar to the black or even the diamond plate in mine, but last I checked diamond plate was pricey! thanks matt.

if you get gages like these, the price of diamontplate is going to be the least of your worries.. i know these autometer ones will run you about 600 for a set.. maybe more

Dolphin gauges, air gauges in stock location. The factory plastic lens is used a mounting panel. The main panel was cutout for fitment in the rear.

the black is galvanized sheet metal I got at a hvac company in 4x10 sheet for $20 bucks its thin and easy to cut with sheet metal shears , and the diamond plate aluminum I got at a swap meet for $30 buck and it was like a 3x4 sheet

1) i need something sturdier than tape.

2) Below dash, i think, is a little too low.
