1990 454ss original to supercharged wild truck
Bought this chevy about 12 years ago, brought it in from japan did all the steering/dash conversion to convert to right hand drive and got it roadworthy to australian conditions. Had 4/6 bellteck drop kit in it, ended up buying 18" lexani wheels for it , mechanically the factory bbc ran fine and the same with the rest of driveline.About 4-5 years ago ended up having small accident in it and shedded it up until about 6 months ago where i have started pulling it down. The motor and trans is out and being replaced with brand new supercharged454. The new engine was bought from the states as the dollar is so good over here, and it contains all the good gear. -4 bolt block, eagle steel crank, eagle h-beam rods,je blower pistons, patriot 345 freedom heads, big roller cam, blower shop 8-71,2x 750 d/p quick fuel carbys, and fabricated air cleaner box to sit on top to suit big+ugly injecter hat.All in all had the engine dynoed and made around 757hp @ 5900 and 703 ft pounds @ 4800rpm. The bed of the truck is off at a mates panel shop getting a sand blast and the bigger wheel tubs put in.

WOW...should be an incredible machine when it's done.
Is that a six-lug rear axle?

Re: 1990 454ss original to supercharged wild truck
thanks mate, its just standard 14bolt 5lug diff, thinkin of ditching it and putting in 9 inch, just that i think the gear ratio is 3'75 and by the time i put 20/22inch wheels on it,it will bring the ratio to low for motor. In australia not alot of gear choices for this diff so 9 inch will work better.

Re: 1990 454ss original to supercharged wild truck
Wow sweet man!!!! Cool video! I'm doing something similar without the blower, i'm hoping for 600-650 hp/tq. I'm in the process of doing the chassis, suspension and rearend first, then the motor.

Re: 1990 454ss original to supercharged wild truck
built chassis table for truck to sit on , table is dead level from all directions.truck will be welded off to table so there is never any movement and all measurements will be the same.

Re: 1990 454ss original to supercharged wild truck
Thanks for the cool coments, just wondering any body know the best place in the states to get my front tubular control arms, shock relocaters and bag cups. Dont know much about this area so any web sites would be appreciated. Need the type of control arms so truck can sit on chassis with 265/40/22 wheels tyres thanks.

Re: 1990 454ss original to supercharged wild truck
tubular - http://www.avsontheweb.com/product.p...cat=478&page=1
not tubular - http://michiganmetalworks.com/store/...ory&path=60_65 I've had RideTech's tubular upper and lowers and they will not layout without modification to the frame. Which makes sense because that is not ridetech's goal for air ride. I'm personally leaning towards mich. metal works for arms (their cheaper set), but i've never tried the flat arms before. Great build and good luck!
