'72 1/2-ton 'burb

I was hoping to get an idea from you guys on what a '72 1/2 ton 2-wheel drive 'burb is worth. It has 402 w/ ps pb dual ac, th400. I think it's a Custom Deluxe. Minimal rust

Here's the kicker, a couple of the rods decided they wanted to be external and poked a hole in the block, so calculate with a blown engine.

This 'burb isn't exactly 'for sale', but it's sat for about 8 months now, and I think the guy would be ready to sell it if I offered him a fair amount.

What would you pay?

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. Idiots (excuse me, enthusiasts) like us are willing to pay way more than it's "worth". I just gave $6000 for a '72 GMC Sub. 100,000 mi., no rust (I mean no rust), straight body, original 350/350 (engine needed rebuilding), shot interior, working heater and A/C. I drove it home from California to Louisiana. My dad said, "you paid how much for that?". Remember: 1) They don't make 'em any more. 2) They're getting harder to find. I spent 6 mos. looking for mine. 3) They're not getting any cheaper.

I bought a '72 burb three years ago with a good bb engine, what I thought was a rust free body, poor interior, and I spent 3500. I drove it back to MN from Austin TX in a blizzard. It was quite an adventure. I think I paid too much , but that's the way I am.

Talking

From what you are describing, I think that somewhere between $2500 and $3500 would be fair. I would try to get him to put a price on it, if he would.

I looked for about 2-3 weeks. Paid $1500 for a 69 1/2 ton suburban with front and rear air, 4 speed, crate 350 target master motor, shot interior, rust on the rain gutters, and the passanger rocker, two dents (one over the pass tail light), ps, pb, and it a "rear 3 door" model. hehe

Talk about "ya snooze, ya lose". I just went and asked about it, and he sold it a few days ago... for $500.
