My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Hi guys. I'm 14 and this is my first project. I'll give you some history on the truck. I bought it back in June and I planned on working on it all summer. Well, things came up and I didn't get to start working on it until the last couple of days, but I am glad that i'm finally starting it. I'm sure i'll be asking a lot of questions so please bear with me!

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Because of my time and my financial situation i dont really plan on doing a complete frame off, but I am going to pull the cab and bed off, clan up the frame, replace the brakes (i'm eventually going to do a disc conversion) and then I have some rust issues on the body to deal with, rocker panels etc. The p/o screwed up the cab and the roof has to welded up, which I don't really know if i am going to be able to do that yet, as I am not that experienced. But I am going to use the same motor and trans, they are both in really good shape, and we pulled the motor open and it is in really good condition. My parents friend is a body guy and i plan to get it painted through him in the future, but not for a while

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Looking good man.
Major props on keeping everything in perspective. I've seen a lot of guys, both young and old, who dive into a project, blow it apart into a million pieces, and then realize it's too much work and lose interest. You're keeping it at a level you can handle, and most of all, you're going to enjoy it! I can't wait to see this thing put back together and heading down the road...when both you and it are legal. ![]() -Sam.

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Alright guys I have a question. How does the grille come off on a 1967? I am trying to pull mine off for some clean up; do the fenders have to be removed for the grille to come out? Thanks ahead of time!

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
no they don't. its tricky for ur first time. if I remember right, there is like 6 bolts on each side (3 on top, 3 on bottom) that bolt to the fender, unbolt the hood latch, and I think check along the very bottom with that metal guard under the core support. should be 1/2 half or 9/16...and be sure to label them where they go so its easy to put back. its been about 4 months since I've put mine back on. when I get home from work I can double check to make sure.

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Awesome thanks a lot. That's good news though was fearing I would have to take a lot more apart than I wanted to at once.

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Got my new tires mounted on the back yesterday. It looked awesome, until I came out this morning to find a flat. I'll post pic's of it with the tires on (and holding air lol) in a few minutes

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Looking forward to pictures. So was it just the valve stem causing them to go flat?

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Turns out there is a very small hole on the inside side wall of the tire...I'm going to take it down to the local tire shop but I don't think it is repairable. I was really hoping it would be something simple like the valve stem. Oh well haha.
I love how these tires look on here. Can't wait to get them all mounted on. Anyway, here are some pics of the wheels and tires. Before: ![]() After: ![]() This was the driver side which is the one that leaks. Look's low in the picture.

Re: My first build-1967 C10 LWB
Yeah I agree. It looks funny with the old small wheels on the front and these really wide ones on the back. I love the stance though, it looks great.
