H2o Flow Problem
Having some overheating issues, and during the flush, I was running water through the engine with the garden hose with the top radiator hose off to watch for clean water and it stopped flowing after about 2 min. Not running a thermostat for the flushing... Fan was turning the whole time... Is my water pump not working all the time??? I killed the engine for a min and it was flowing again when I fired it back up. What would cause that stopping in water flow??
Thanks!!

Re: H2o Flow Problem
If I was a betting man, I'd say it was cavitation in the water pump. When the water pump sometimes gets a big air bubble it will start cavitating (a lot like a boat prop spinning when it's not all the way in the water) causing low to no water circulation. More than likely when you shut off the engine, the pump slowly filled up with water and started circulating again after restart.

Re: H2o Flow Problem
That makes some sense Green Mon., I drained the system, including the block, completely prior to running the water through it. Thanks
