Newbie from Mexico saying hi - 1989 cheyenne (mexican silverado)

hi there hows it going?
this is carlos form mexico , im new with trucks never had any before , ive always love cars and always been a chevy fan.
maybe you dont know that in mexico were different models offered that in usa, they gave different names to the trucks (cheyenne for silverado) , they had different grills, some other equipment and some other options.
my father used to have a 1990 cheyenne that i always like it was a 2 tone color truck red-gray-red , really nice truck.
well time ago i found a 1989 cheyenne that was in very nice condition, i had some money because i sold my 72 chevelle so whata hell i bougth it!
here are a couple of pics let me know what you think and maybe some ideas to make the truck look better . ill be switching wheels for 15x8 rallys, and i was thinking in lowering it but without cuting coils

Nice truck. Interesting fact, it is a 89 (old body style) and not a crew cab. Hmmmm

88 changed to the new body style here EXCEPT the crews...kind of backwards. I like the 4 speed in my 68 el camino, but all my big trucks are automatics. yours is a very nice truck.

It almost looks like the entire rear of the bed it totally flat along with the tailgate. Amazing looking truck, love those rims too. I would leave them on just lover it a bit.

Welcome to the forum carloscanales. We know there are so differences with the Mexico version of the trucks. It's cool having some one here that knows the difference and has pics to share.

Very nice, although not as different as I expected it would be.

Based on that shifter and boot, I would say it is the "M20 trans" (although the knob is different than what we have here). Can you take a pic of the trans from underneath the truck?

Welcome -

It's actually the same chassis as a 1500 here in the states, just with different badges applied to it.

WOW.. that is very nice!... the interior color/scheme w/ the woodgrain.. and seats, panels... is EXACTLY what I want to do to my truck!... would match the color of my truck's dash color and exterior color perfectly!!!

Suburban's are my only hope for that type set-up over here in the state's..no?

Unless I head over across the border.. I suppose
