Help me id the lift of these springs...please - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

A dude locally has these springs for sale for $200!
He is not sure though if it's 6" or 8" of lift....can any of y'all tell?
I really only need 6s and 8s would be too much...HELP i don't want to miss this deal if it's what I need

The tires look like military 36" good years and the frame looks pretty high up. With the bumper relocating brackets on the frame and the big arch in the springs in the front, I'm guessing those could be 8"ers.

Fronts look 8"+, and the rear looks like it must be on blocks.

if its a 73-87 it looks like more than 6 inches... the fronts LOOK like more than 8... you could always just get a tape measure.. even if they are 8 inch springs for 200 bucks i'd do it..

you beat me... maybe 8 inch fronts and the rear is 4 inch springs with 4 inch block.

either way, at 200 bucks and he already has to do drive line and steering mods.. he should do it and then post pictures

I have to agree, those fronts are way more than 8" by the looks. That is a lot of arch.

Buy them and resell them and purchase a new 6" kit for your ride.

the back would have huge blocks then... because its arch looks minimal

Look at how far down the axle housing is and how long that shock is. Looks pretty long to me.

I looked at my 12" lift springs today and these springs in these pics look to have more arch than them, so I'm really going to say 8" or more.

Make sure they are correct for your year of truck..it looks like the front spring hangers are wrong for our year of trucks. May have been adapted from something else...the shackles on the front springs look fabricated as well. You should be able to find a part number on those front springs.

I would say those are 10" or 12". Here is a picture of my 6" Skyjacker springs for comparison.

Maybe even more than 12". Remember the stock springs actually have a negative arch.

Also remember... those front springs do not have the weight of the engine on them.

With as much arch as those springs have, weight isn't really going to matter unless you stick 1500lbs or more directly on them.

Look like a set of deaver's,maybe 12 or 14" kinda solft ride or flex????Looks like the second leaf raps around the front eye. JMO!!!!

I'm just lovin' the bump stop extenders......There is no way in the world you could ever compress that thing that far. The shackles would never allow that much travel, the driveshaft would shove the transfercase off of the mount, etc....not to mention the teeth in the steering wheel? LOL

Well the guy finally got back up with me & is insisting they are no higher than 8", and says they are either Rough Country or Super Lift brand. And I definetly do not want Rough County.
Thanks for the reference pics Dieselwrencher & drunkbus, that really helped me to decide just to pass on these springs. 6" is really as high as I want to go...I could deal with it if they were not quiet enough lift by changing hangers up & such but making it lower wouldn't be as easy.
You guys are always so helpful, otherwise I would have driven 150 miles been out $200 and cussed all weekeend putting them on & it would have looked like some kind of grasshopper
