Weak moment-bought another 72

This is a long story and i'll try to make it short. I'm a lover of 72's and especially highlanders. My long truck in the avatar I bought for my son when he was a baby and just turned 7. I bagged it, but he loves to hunt and fish like me so a bagged truck isn't going to be the hot ticket, so I found a highlander 4x4 blazer that i'm restoring for him. In a weak moment I sold my pickup to my nephew, and as soon as I did I drove it and kicked mysef. It's still in the family and always will be, but there's nothing like owning your own. This truck isn't a highlander, but it is a darn clean old truck. I paid too much, but I'm just a sucker for survivors. Plans are to pull off the old man items and go from there. I'd love to throw it on a 4x4 frame, but it would almost be a shame. I have the stuff to do it, but we'll see. Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

Re: Weak moment-bought another 72

Thanks, just won the auction tonight, it'll be a 600 mile road trip to get it, but should be a ton of fun. Gotta start making my list of little things to take and some tools, but hoping it will be a flawless trip.

That's the plan. Lose the boards, mud flaps, curtains, and possibly the vent shades. Swap for a rear sport bumper and enjoy. I'll have plenty of time to comtemplate.

Thanks, I was hoping the color, long bed, and extras on it would hurt the price, but to me it didn't. I gave more than I wanted to, but trucks like it aren't a dime a dozen, and I feel it's a good investment.

Beautiful! Very tasteful window treatments And I love the go-kart rear bumper. Seriously, congrats, that's an awesome one-owner time capsule.

Congrats... the changes you want to make are exactly what I'd do - but woudl also be fun to drive a few weeks like it is... total old man truck. I'd love to find something like that near me... (and the money to buy one!).

Re: Weak moment-bought another 72

That is a real special truck you bought. A true well-optioned survivor with a documented history. I don't think you paid too much. I hope you keep it all stock. It is too nice to do anything to it except drive it some and preserve it. Congrats.

Re: Weak moment-bought another 72

That is a great truck and the story, paper work, memories make it that much better. If you can keep all the pictures and info on it etc...see if you can get a pic with the owners back in the day, that would be cool to have (You just know she made those curtains). Just a few changes and it will look completely original! Very nice! Thanks for sharing! Roger___

Re: Weak moment-bought another 72

Thanks for all the kind word, congrats, and best wishes. I'm really excited about this thing. I can't figure out what the outdoor carpet is on the dash, and i'm hoping that original olive wheel is perfect under that leather wrap.
