And an amp gauge. I smell a fire in someones future if they are not pretty versed in these old trucks.

Re: factory tach w/fuel gauge ?

Hello,

Definitely a sweet looking cluster. I bought one a while back for my K30 project (still in progress ). I believe mine has a volt gauge though, as I'm pretty sure it's out of a '77 truck. Would have to dig it out to confirm though. A very rare combination, I searched for a while to find mine. Hopefully someone here will win the one on Ebay ...

Hope ths helps,

Joe

I put one into my 90 suburban with an air pressure gauge in place of the vacuum gauge.

The one that is posted here is for a diesel. hint the vaccum gauage. IF your truck is later then 77 you will have to swtich the amp for a volt, which can be done. Move the 3 o'clock pin to the 12 o' clock position.

I bought 3 of them two off of ebay and one off craigslist before I found one that works.

So there's not a single place that make reproduction clusters with a tach/fuel guage?

Re: factory tach w/fuel gauge ?

I just got one from a company from called gm sports in california. the face is exstruded plastic. He can do the 5000 tach or the 7000 tach. I chose the 7000 face for my ls 5.3 conversion. I put it in a 91 suburban cluster. It was simple to install. I had to cut out the seat belt and brake indicator light out of it to make it fit. After that I just plugged it into the exsisting fuel gauge terminal and hooked up one wire to the tach feed. Was real simple to hook up. I wish I had taken some pictures before I installed. Here are some after install.

Pretty sure the diesel trucks had them too. (1/2-1 ton). That might be easier to find.

Yea, Thats where I got it. Took a while to get. I think they had to get the guy to make it. Its a new product for them . I felt I was better off with this than trying to get a used one that may or may not work. I Talked to the guy who makes them and he said if anything ever goes wrong with it he will repair it for free. Super nice guy.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

It was $195.00 + shipping. By using this I could use my exsisting cluster . Whats nice about it is you could convert any cluster to a tach . You dont have to have a tach cluster to make it work. You would loose the two indicator lights at the bottom where the fuel gauge is.

They have them listed for a chevy truck. Try this .http://gmsportssalvage.com/?q=node/1316. I just happen to stumble on them. These are a aftermarket they are offering. If you are on the home page look at the bottom left of the page. It will say tach and gauges.

I did not have any directions with mine but was not needed. Using a non tach cluster you will have to cut out the housing part of the indicator light so the fuel gauge will fit into the housing. Then the unit will plug right into the same place where the fuel gauge was. It came with a wire for the tach signal that run to the hei distributor and just plugs in. In my case I used the pcm from my ls motor.
