Rally wheel find ????

I just found these wheels, and not sure what they are worth. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion if they were worth 150.00 for the set?? I have not seen them personally yet but he said they are in perfect shape! They are 15X8 6 lug and he thinks they are just painted not powder coated, which will make it easier to change the color!!

Re: Rally wheel find ????

They are Definitely worth every penny he is asking. around here ( if you can find the 6 luggers) they will be $2-300 a set and probably not get the centers or trim rings for that. New centers are $50 each and trim rings will run you around $150+, so keep this in mind.

Sound like a good price.
Noticed it has 2 old style and 2 new style caps (Dah, 4x4 fronts). Does it come with a full set of either or both?

Re: Rally wheel find ????

I was going to ask $300.00 for the 4 of these on the local c/l and thought perhaps I would have a hard time getting that for them

Re: Rally wheel find ????

That's about the going price for the 6 lug rally's around here. Those appear to have the nice 3" wide stainless trim rings.

Nice....It looks like my set is similar. I'm wanting new wheels but don't have the $$. may push me to get mine cleaned up and listed. may give me the difference in cash I need! (atleast I think they are the same?)

Re: Rally wheel find ????

6 luggers not as common as 5 lug rallies. Those are easily worth $150, don't wait too long or they'll be gone. $300+ is what I'd expect to pay, without tires, and possibly even without caps/rings. You have a very good deal there, go for it.

You can buy Chevy emblem stickers and just place them over the 4x4 emblems. There are a few different size cap stickers so make sure you get the right size if you go that route.

I might just do that, rite now i have some aluminum saw-blade wheels , but hopefully when i get the truck painted ill put the rallys with some white walls...... i really like these rally wheels because you can just paint them to match the color of the truck and it gives it a good look

Re: Rally wheel find ????

here's a guy that sells stickers: http://www.webxtremes.com/chevycentercapdecals.htm

Note, there is also a guy that sells them on the for sale section of this site.

I have original metal ones that are pretty pitted, bought a cheapie set of plastic replacements for driving duty and have to be honest, I love em. They look EXACTLY like the metal ones, they fit tight, and if someone steals em, I won't lose any sleep.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-GMC-4X...sories&vxp=mtr

One tip - regardless of the route you go, CALL the seller on the phone first - there are "copyright infringement" "issues" with the yellow, correct looking stickers (that's why they are so hard to find, kinda pisses me of that the General is hosing us this way - they're old, let them be copied for Pete's sake...) - so they don't normally advertise them (that's why you see red ones and blue ones, etc) - but that does not mean they don't have any in the back room

Re: Rally wheel find ????

im not sure but i think mine are the plastic ones , still pretty good though, and thanks i just saved the website to favorites so i can check them out later on, one question on these rally wheels i got ive noticed that most of the bolts to hold down the center caps are all different sizes what should i do in that case?, is it safe to take a tap to it and make all the holes the same?

heres a picture of my truck with the rallys and some home made white walls

Re: Rally wheel find ????

do you remember the seller on ebay for the caps - those are the correct looking center emblem for chevs - kinda hard to find even on plastic caps! They look great on your truck by the way.

might want to double check, but I'd bet that the wheels still have the same threads, but someone somewhere along the way just grabbed whatever bolt to fit - so they look different - and all you'd need is a set of the mounting bolts for the caps. If the THREADS in the wheels are all different, then you can re-tap if they have not been opened up too much, otherwise, hmmm, gonna have to think about that one....

well when i removed them i saw that some of them had the thread messed up , i never could get two of the same bolts on them things, the previous owner had some of the hub caps in a box that he gave me with the truck, i have a total of five rallys and five hubcaps, but only four trims

I bought some years ago at Chevy dealer, they were bigger in diameter, but same thin aluminum as 4x4 emblems. I used 4x4 as pattern and trimmed them down for a perfect fit. They looked so good someone left my Chevy on blocks.

Re: Rally wheel find ????

Those bolts for the center caps are 5/16 x coarse self-tapping.
Original wheels only have 3 of the holes used,so the other 3 shouldn't have threads.
After being removed/re-installed several times the threads will strip.
