Re: SiX-fo SuBuRbAn
I am kinda leaning that way today
I need a classy winter rig, and mt is a good place to have a 4x4 for winter... I have a mostly complete 83 sub 1/2 4x4 chassis, been thinking of shortening it and just dropping the burb body on it. I would just do a slight body lift to get it to clear all the late model crossmembers. then I was thinking I could slowly customize the 2wd frame for a later date... still don't know what I want to do..maybe I need to find another one the 4x4 might be my cheapest option right now, about the only thing I would have to buy is a shorter rear driveshaft, as compared to getting the 292 running, and fixing the 3 speed column shift, and lowering..... first , while I am deciding I will clip the front of the body and make it rust free. I have been checking out the differences between the truck and sub floors, they are mostly the same, but there a few, I'll post up some pics of them when I get the 2 stripped down. was also thinking that some bedsides (lower) off a lwb might be a cool way to fix the rust and leave a little more room for a 4x4 tire with the bigger lwb wheelwell.
