A couple of paint questions?
I will soon be painting my 1972 K10. I finally got the LS running well and its time for a paint job. The existing box has no rust but it has been massaged so many times it oil-cans going down the road. I picked up a cheyenne box with the toolbox in the side last winter.. The toolbox door was missing but with the help of a few members here I got it all rebuilt. I also have new door sills and fenders from Frank in Olympia. Anyway I want to do a single stage urethane, but I don't want it to be too shiny. I am keeping the factory colour as it gets lot's of comments. What do I tell the paint guy or girl? I don't really want the truck flat but just don't want it shiny.

Re: A couple of paint questions?
Any quality paint mfr will offer a flattener for use in their system. The amount of gloss retained depends on how much flattener is mixed in with the paint. So you could have full gloss all the way to full flat, or anywhere in between. Your painter should know this.

Re: A couple of paint questions?
Have them spray samples to look at first. I just made that mistake and now the interior is to glossy on my truck.
