Well,I know some of the history of my truck....

Some people dropped by my shop yesterday and I was showing them the shortbed 4x4(keep in mind I only had the chassis in their view). One of the guys had just bought a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 btw.I told them that I went to the junkyard to haul off beer cans and I came home with a truck....
Well, they asked what color it was,I told them, and one said "Thats probably that shortbed that sit in that one persons front yard with no motor for years".They said it was used as a mud truck, which I can belive since it has a sticker on the windshield saying it was entered in the 4 wheel jamboree. It was in a town about a half hour from here.I wish I could have seen some pics of it before it went to the junkyard and I bought it,but atleast I know now it has a better life than the previous owner gave it.
Just had to share...off I go to work on it now.

Dustin

Re: Well,I know some of the history of my truck....

All I know about my truck is that it was made in the St.Lous Plant, was sold in Texas, somehow got to SC and I bought it off my uncle in '96 after he owned it for about 6 months.

Re: Well,I know some of the history of my truck....

I have the original owners registrations in the glove box from AL I have the build sheet with Protecto plate and the owners manual that the original owner wrote down every service, mileage, and date on the back cover.

Re: Well,I know some of the history of my truck....

Some people are very fortunate...Im not one of them,my old 71 c/10 was given to me by the son of the original owner. He put about 1k miles on it and let it sit for years till I got it.I havent checked for the protecto-plate or anything though,I do have the original title, that might be the best thing. The rest of my trucks are a big unknown, one I found at an abandoned farm house,I knew the daughter of the owner of the farm house and was given the truck.I dont know anything about it.
