Just a suggestion. Call your vehicle insurance agent and ask him or her. They usually have preferred body and paint shops they use for repairs due to good quality work at semi reasonable prices, otherwise, their customers would ***** and whine. I have a friend in the insurance industry, and they recommended one for me. Worked out great, but I am in San Diego. Whittier is a little too far north I think.

Try the local paint store also. They will know some shops that do great work but may not be on a insurance list. Alot of the "insurance shops" are not big on older vehicles so it depends on what your needing done.

Yeah, I agree with Chevyfan. The ins companies are used to dealing with newer cars and therefore will send you to a chain body shop (like caliber collision) Most of these places have guys that just replace the panels, and do not know how to do actual real body work and fabrication.

Re: GOOD body shops in so-cal?

I just had some work done on my '69 C-20. They fixed a dent in PS rocker, fixed a buttload of little dents on my bedsides, welded up some holes in the bedsides that the PO drilled, and shot the bed with primer for $500. My truck is a driver/ratrod, so I was happy with the work they did, and the price.

You could always go to a local cruise night type thingy, and ask somebody with a nice paint job, who also looks like they don't have a ton of money to throw around.
