70's valve cover options..?

Hey all, I'm putting together my sb406 and I'm trying to keep the build nostalgia-looking. The original 400's covers were just plain tin painted Chevy orange. Is there any way to find what other options came on Chevys in the '70s? I've been looking at the finned covers but I'm pretty sure that started in the '60s.

Can anyone help me with this?

Anyting earlier could have been used in the`70s.I always likewd the finned aluminum covers.Chrome was big in the`70s.Towars the end it was anodized aluminum Morroso covers. Those wrinkle black M/T covers came out in the late-70s,too.

Re: 70's valve cover options..?

Go with some sort of polished aluminum finned. Those things are timeless. I used those on all my stuff in the 70's, cars and trucks.

Plain chrome tin covers look kind of cheap, and just so I dont ruffle any feathers I have a set of those on one of my rides now.
