Got a small pop in my stereo when I apply my brakes. Now its doing it when I turn the turn signal on. I thought it was the brake light switch but it has me scratching my head now. Bad ground somewhere?

where did you run your main power too?and where is your acc hooked up?
on most stereos the antenna will act as a solid ground.

all the power supplys are to the battery

is your battery cable touching the manifold bolts mine was and thats what was causing the noise in my stereo also try jiggling the wires behind where your keys go works for me

dont hook up your power wire to any fuse that powers an accesory,youll get "bleed through" from that accessory,,,,,,you didnt say if it was a stock radio,or an aftermarket,they have 2 power wires,1 red ,1 pink,for channel memory

are you running high power amps?......you could be getting bleed through from these also,,,you could always go to radioshack an buy a couple of noise suppresors

Mudder, I used to have a 79 that did that. I used a noise suppresor and it solved it immediatly.

its all after market and yes i have high powered amps. you cant actually hear it when the sound is up but only when its between songs or the volume is down.

Sounds like either a bad ground on the amps, or maybe your RCA cables (or speaker wires) are close to your main wiring harness? I would check to see if any of them are sitting over, or zip-tied to your steering colum. Just a thought without hearing it.

One more thought, it could be an electrical spike. See if it does the same thing when you turn on your headlights. If it does, then you need a larger gauge power wire for your amps. Im running 1/0 gauge from the battery into a 150 amp fuse, then to a couple of circuit breakers at the amps.
