door hinge

should i rebuild or not???
they feel pretty tight and there is no play up or down. however they do not feel smooth, if that make sense??

Are you restoring your truck ?

Lube them up with your favorite penetrating oil work them back and forth to get the rust out of the joint
Like deep creep

After see how much play is produced

I am not sure how the repop pins and bushings last compared to the originals in our trucks

Actually yes,I have the whole cab stripped for paint and body. and since i am this far i was just wondering about the hinges and i think there is a board member that overhauls them

i watched a video on u tube where a guy soaked them in 50% tranny fluid and 50%acetone mix for a week and then pins knocked out pretty easy

I would rebuild them would hate to have a failure after all the effort to do a complete paint job on your truck to have a hinge problem after your done

The atf and acatone act as a penetrate the rust and loosen the pin up for easier removal

I havent seen one of these truck doors droop yet due to worn pins seen more then a few seize from rust
