stepside step painting?

hello, I am almost ready for paint, my question is on painting the box, I was planning on painting the sides with the fenders and steps off, but remembered that there was drip check between the seams??? so do they all have this? or was it because mine has been painted once or twice before.
I could paint the sides, then install the fenders, steps, and seal, then paint it complete, but with all the angles there is a pretty good chance of getting a sag or run....

thanks!

Re: stepside step painting?

Not quite understanding "Drip Check". Anyway, It would make it better to get up in there on the top if you do it with the fenders off, then attach the fenders with some minor seam sealer between fender and bedside. Kinda wish'd I'd done it that way.

I used some brush-on seam sealer applied to the fender so it didn't squeeze out and bolted it on.

Re: stepside step painting?

Mine was painted with the fenders and steps on. We just put new seam sealer between the fender and the bedside. My dad used to have his own body shop.
