Trucks with $2000 or less invested.
Are there any trucks out there with less than 2000 dollars invested in? I have $1280.00 tied up in my '68. It is usually driven daily. I figure that the average working man can afford a truck for around $2000 or less and do what he wants with it. I figure about $1500 more, and mine will be just right. See it at my web site for a short biography. Let's see your $2000 or under truck. BTW, I have about $1600 in recepts from the guy that I bought the truck from (grin) - Ted

I'm out...
Hey, I've got that much in my chassis/suspension...not to think of what I paid for the "hole in the air, surrounded by steel and glass, into which I continue to pour money". This is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Good luck....and you must be a lot more talented than I am...although I now have more time and less money than before I retired, so I am going to be learning/saving.

No talent here, just lots of luck. Lots of being in the right place at the right time. I know how these trucks will $30, 40 and 50 dollar you to death. I haven't yet missed a dime that I have spent. I've only layed out for a new headlight, d/s support bearing, and a U-joint. I have a catalog full of things that I will be buying for her before it is over with. I predict that I will break the $2000 mark this year. (and I bought this truck to "save" a little money, at least that is what I told my wife.) Best - Ted

i paid 300 bucks for my truck, drove it too, but probably burnt a gallon of oil in about 1 block..lol my dad bought a 71c10 last year this time, also 300 bucks, used it towards a paint job on his 53, the guy gave him 1700 bucks for it, everyday since my dad has been kicking himself for letting that one go, i think he plans on getting it back sooner or later

As far as the truck goes, I hit the 2,000 mark a little bit agao. Think I have about $2500 now into it.
I think lot of my investment outside of that is on tools though. Too many years of not needing SAE or having places for a shop. So builing it up as I go. Waiting on the welder to show up now....then I can play some more.

My GMC has about $2000 in it (give or take $200) and is more dependible than gravity. Driven daily for over 2 years now. ($2000 includes parts bought for the Longhorn that was transplanted to the GMC)

long story but i sold a 71 camaro for 1800 bucka and then bought my first 70 model c10 for 1500 and then traded it for a 67 buick riviera and then traded that buick for this current 70 c/10
i have done nothing money wise to the truck,i had a 68 327 from my very first 68 gmc that i rebuilt a long time ago and put it in. so in all i have maybe 200 bucks tied up in this truck so far.

i have about 1500 in mine, thank god for swap meets or it would have been way more, because i lost control of the truck in the rain one time and totaled out the front end of it and the back end of the isuzu in the other lane.

I paid $700 for mine, (without an engine) now it's a year later and I'm into it for about 1600-1700 dollars, still a long way to go, though, but no regrets, even if I never make a dime on my truck I'll still be happy- besides its paid for and I love working on it.

I bought mine for 2800
But if you add what me and the guy before have put into it it adds up to around 4500, not including the cost of the truck
