1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4
Well, I guess I will start a thread about my recent purchase and future plans.
First thing is a little clean up, maybe new exhaust, tires, and re arch springs etc. I want to keep it pretty close to original as much as possible. Pretty much factory ride height, 32-33 inches tires, debating on height and width now. Don't want to tall or too narrow. Clean up rally wheels. I have original 4x4 hub caps but I don't have original steel wheels. So I will redo rally's and try to figure out tire sizes. Anyway here we go. Last edited by Arrington01; 04-26-2014 at 04:55 PM. |

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4
Thanks Trevor, been looking for a while for something like this. It was a 2 owner truck. The man I bought it from has had it since 1984. Still has protect o plate. Plus most of the non original stuff thats not on it, he had stashed away. Like steering wheel, original hub caps, etc.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4
I found original tinted back glass I am going to change out this week. Need to get original antenna. Debating about putting original green steering wheel back on it, or doing the vette or camaro still 3 spoke original looking aluminum steering wheel. Truck is so original I hate to not put original wheel back, but there kinda big. But I have a standard tilt column coming so that may help.

The comfort grip steering wheels look great on these trucks and do give a little more room for guys like me (expanding waist) than the stock wheel. You're right about the tilt - it will help too. Very nice truck - and you got the docs too - awesome!

Yes, glove box door spid, owners manuals, protect o plate from dealer, lots of good material. I am going to pull seat and check for build sheet and carpet.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4
I painted my rally's flat black. Gives them a slightly more modern look but still classic. I only bought the 2" wide rings though I'll get 3" next time. I also bought black lug nuts. When I eventually reprint the truck I want the cab to be white so ill powder coat the wheels white at that time

Very Nice. Love the color but I'm partial to Green on K10's.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4
I will try to post some more pics as I go. I just got it Friday. Been driving it, checking things out. Got oil changed and greased. Washed it today and trying to get little misc things done before I do anything else, like tires, exhaust, tilt column, tach dash and speed warning cluster, put original gm wood grain bezel back on.
