Help with cab mounts - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi guys I'm looking for some insight into mounting my cab. I have it resting on the mounts right now, but it seems like the front is way too low. The gap between the fender and rocker is about an inch and a half, and when I jack the front of the cab up about 2" everything seems to line up better. I have the big cushion on the rear, and the one on the front is about 1.5" thick. Does anyone have a picture of the front 4x4 cab mounts? it's a 2wd cab going on a 4x4 frame, but that shouldn't matter other than the high hump which is already cut out.

From your description of the problem it seems that the frame must be bent in order for the fenders to be so far off from aligning with the cab. How thick are the radiator support mounts?

I have not messed with a 4x4, but you can try this as a starting point: Check the level of the frame to the level of the rocker. If i recall correctly the cab actually mounts level to the frame, at least that is what i measured when i was leveling my cab on frame to do some sheet metal repair. What are you using for radiator support mounts? I used the lmc diagram when i installed my mounts, maybe you can double check with the diagram to see if you can anything off.

Other than that, the only other thing i could think of is tighten all of the mounts down(until the mounts are compressed all the way but the bolts aren't torqued) and see if that seems to straighten any alignments out. Good luck!
