Question Candy apple red?

Does any one have a pic of their truck in this color? If so can you post with the ref code. Trying to decide my color. My 1st choice was Fire Engine red since I'm a vol. FF. Second was Garnet after the gamecocks _figure that.. But wife says she would prefer Candy red.

Re: Candy apple red?

my truck is candy apple red and make sure if you get this color you get atleast 7 coats of candy to prevent fast fading coloring. another choice is scarlett red, my brother just got his 2 toned with one color being this one and its bright red and super nice, but $$$. i will post pics of ihs truck later on to give you and idea

Re: Candy apple red?

I talked to the body guy today and he wasn't happy told me it would cost 5k more to go to that color because it would be like starting all over I thought that was what refurb meant from the frame up????

Re: Candy apple red?

Sounds like you may want to rethink who your body person is. $5k MORE sounds a bit inflated just to change colors ... even if it is a multi-stage paint. I can see an increase, but that sounds a bit excessive.

My red is probably about the closest you will get to fire engine red.

Re: Candy apple red?

Candy Apple red was a multi-stage laquer. In urethane it can be simulated and even called "candy apple".Basically, the candys of the past were the only laquers that could give anything close to the depth that urethanes with pearl of present can give in a full spectrum of colors.Check out House of Colors.Red uses alot of expensive pigments, even in solids. But,I still don`t see where another $4,000 comes in.
