72 one owner...

Just went and picked this one up Saturday. It is a one owner, 72 Custom with a small block and automatic. The dash has not been cobbled up and dig those cool white spokes, THEY ARE BRAND NEW... Not my choice of wheels but look ok on this one. I am torn as to what to do with it. I have never had one that still has the original title in the original owners name and it is solid and mechanically fit enough to just be a driver for me over the summer. But,,, I am sure there is a good market for it. Decisions, decisions... Any suggestions guys??

Re: 72 one owner...

To me a one owner tuck has to be in really good condition like garage kept,no rust, low miles and when you look at it it says wow this thing is like New. While your truck looks to be in great shape it also looks like the owner used it and enjoyed it. I would do.the same. If you really want to keep the title one owner go to the dmv and get a trip permit. In Oregon we can get a permit for 30 days for 30-35 bucks. You get one your wife gets the next and so on until you decide to sale it...Have fun by the way what did you have to pay for it looks to be a good truck..

Re: 72 one owner...

Yes, it was used as a truck, it came from a rural agricultural community so I am surprised it isn't beat and banged more than it shows. I don't really want to share how much we have in, just say the previous owner and I both feel we got a more than fair deal. That does not happen very often. Thanks, Fred.

Re: 72 one owner...

Looks like a nice candidate for a clean up and sell as a driver Fred. We have to remember that it is 41 yrs old and that is a long time to be with the same owner and a lot of things can happen in that amount of time. The good thing about one owner vehicles is there is no searching for history. It is all right there.

I am pretty sure that is what we are going to do. Like I tell my son,, "We can't keep them all". The major changes are the Holley 600 carb and I think the valve covers are not the correct ones. And it has been changed to an HEI, whick is the only way to go on these rigs. I will probably give it a good bath, replace a burnt out turn signal bulb, put a correct gas cap on it, find a dome lamp lens and put it on the market this week.

I am pretty sure it's going down the road to Keith. He must have offered a Braums triple cheese burger and jumbo chocolate shake

Hey Dan. Keith passed but a good Braums burger and shake combo would sure help make any deal easier to ,,, swallow,,, Oh, I crack me up... Was thinking about taking it over to Duquoin this weekend but the cars/crowd over there is more poofy. They would not appreciate the inner beuaty this truck has to offer. The Cheap Bastard left me stranded Monday, I will not have something I can't trust. It may have just signed its passport out of the shop and we can keep this thing for a beater/shop truck. Just aint sure,, too much going on in the next few days/weeks. Thanks, Fred

That is looking good Fred. Yes I like the #7 DuPont also, it is good stuff.

I almost wish I could take it off your hands but not today The new owner will have a good start to a beautiful short bed. You can't beat Ochre to get shined up nice

It is listed on Ebay. Not wanting to turn this into a thread about trying to sell it in this post. Don't want anyone cracking down on me. Thanks, Fred.

Re: 72 one owner...

only reason why that truck is in that good of shape is that ugly paint job. Here in calif I seen a lof of them trucks that color just sit on the side of houses or barns. Now if that truck was the Blue and white or the orange and white truck we might not be talking about A truck.

I have had the the chance to buy 3 of them that color and i had to pass.that is the only color i'm not fond of even the light Green or that gold was way better color

Ochre is my favorite color. I'm not surprised it sold so quickly. It polished up very nice.

Thanks for the response. I am not really sure what it is supposed
to mean, but we all are free to express our thoughts.
