Check out my build thread in my sig. It needs some updating but we've come pretty far in only 2 months. I've been keeping my eyes out for a hauler like yours around these parts as I think it would be awesome to have one to go with the tow truck

I am surprised I have not saved more of these pictures from past posts of other people on here, but here are a couple I have saved.

I am sure others will post more pictures.

Thanks, this is the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Seems to me that this breed might be the rarest of the 67-72's produced. I'm trying to decide if this is worth throwing a bunch of $ at, I think it is but would like more input from those who know much, much more than I do about it.

That is a great story and a beautiful truck...I think I've got "THE SICKNESS"
I fooled with Mad Max last night until I ran out of daylight and still couldn't bring myself to go to the house, so I pulled a chair out of the shop and sat there in the dark drinking a beer and stared at it for another hour or so. Man...this thing is just so cool!

Hey Brad,
I have one very similar to yours. It was an old McLaren race car hauler that I flew to LA and drove back. I am not able to post pictures, but I will be happy to send you some from my phone if you would like to post them on your thread. I will be happy to give you any info you would like about it. They are very special trucks. Take care, Mike

Mike...you are my hero! I need to learn as much as I can about these. I"ll take any pics and info you have to offer. You can e-mail me at ARMOR1535@AOL.COM . The PO bought this one from a Drag Racer in Tampa so there is some history behind it. I think I saw a pic of Dick Landy's alter car on one of these.
Thanks for anything you can do.

Wow, those pictures are wicked cool. Mine is a '68 C30. It has open fenders in the rear, really nice aluminum stowaway ramps, spare 80 gallon fuel tank. It was owed by a well known Can Am racer named Doug Peterson. I have the complete history of it around here somewhere. I will send some pics of it to your phone.

Crossin' my fingers that my deal for a '68 C30 just like that Ebay one goes through. For the times that my Chevelle is actually ON a trailer, it'd be cool to have one the same 1968 model year. The truck's a 454/granny 4spd., was used in a movie in the 70's, then slipped through the cracks. Doesn't look to have any rust areas to speak of, we'll see........all for the price of a decent, used, open car trailer.

I see Tim is not online, so I will give you some shifter info. Probably a big block, all mine mount closer to the dash because the motor mounts further forward to clear the firewall. Plus the bent shifter is from an SM465 (68 and later I think) It also has the reverse on the other side than the SM420.
