STOLEN!!! 1967 Chevy longbed from Oak Park Mall/ Overland Park Ks area
This is not my truck and have no affiliation with the owner. I just want to put this here just in case someone comes across this truck. Here is the story from the local Kansas City news.

Me too. I have had a car stolen before, fortunate that my cell phone that I had tucked in the door pocket was on. I always leave my GPS active just in case, lucky for me the cops located the car with a few calls to Sprints security dept.

Re: STOLEN!!! 1967 Chevy shortbed from Oak Park Mall/ Overland Park Ks area
I was at the gym at the time, other wise I would have had the phone with me. The worst part is I couldn't call anyone to come get me because I couldn't remember anyone's number.

Re: STOLEN!!! 1967 Chevy shortbed from Oak Park Mall/ Overland Park Ks area
Went to the movies the other day with a brand new four wheeler in the back of my dad's truck. Left my phone under the seat and being its an iPhone I new I could use the "find my phone" app to locate it.

Re: STOLEN!!! 1967 Chevy shortbed from Oak Park Mall/ Overland Park Ks area
Scumbag thieves! I hate them. I had a '71 C/30 NAPCO that got stolen back in '92 from the shop that pulled the utility bed I sold so I could start the body restoration. The worst part was, I had completely rebuilt the drivetrain and it was a monumental task gathering the NAPCO parts. This was before the internet (for me, at least). ARGH!!!
I know how this guy feels and it sucks! The bad feeling (and anger) comes right back every time I hear a truck is stolen someone put a lot into

Poor guy...I feel same as everyone else. Our first ever new car..86 Buick Grand National...was stolen. Weird feeling when it isn't where you left it.

Re: STOLEN!!! 1967 Chevy shortbed from Oak Park Mall/ Overland Park Ks area
people who steal stuff need to get the punishments like they do out east. ...get caught stealing something: 1st time, get your hand broken. 2nd time, get it cut off.
...it'll really make you think twice if it's really worth doing. |

What kind of security do you use? I have an old "The Club" in the garage but I heard they are not that effective. Maybe a kill switch?

That's my world as well. No need for jail time.

I'm there too but get caught once cut both off and find a different way to support yourself.

Totally agree. Jail is a taxpayer funded hotel where petty criminals get to learn new techniques and contacts from the hardened (lifer) criminals.

Re: STOLEN!!! 1967 Chevy shortbed from Oak Park Mall/ Overland Park Ks area
We were moving when my K10 got stolen, and everything I held dear to me was in the bed. the cops found it the next afternoon. in neutral on the 4 transfer case selector. it seems the thieves weren't four wheel drive friendly and couldn't get it in gear, so they left it.
