Tranny question
I got a 3 on the tree right now in my 70 Chev. Has a 350 upfront and wondering what would be a good tranny to pair with it, however it is on a budget, and with this being my first project something that is fairly simple and straight forward would be great. I plan on just cruising with it on the weekends, and the 350 is a mild build. Any info would be great. Manual or automatic suggestions are fine. Thanks everyone in advance.

Re: Tranny question
The t-5 trans. is the best & most popular swap. I have put 2 of them behind 350's. They are a little light duty for a 350 but if you don't go hot rodding & do burnouts they will stand up. There is all kinds of info on these old truck websites about the swap & which trans. to look for. They are plentiful & reasonably priced.

Re: Tranny question
I was going to put a NV4500 in mine to swap out my sm465 but decided to leave it and put a higher rear end gear in mine to get better highway speeds. Theres several kits for the NV4500 swap and you also get a granny gear and a overdrive. If you want a simple swap i heard nothing but good about the 350 trannys which are automatics. I would persoanlly keep the truck a manual as to me they seem simpler but thats just me....
