Picture: '69 w/late model bed

Anyone have any pics of a 1969 with a late model bed on it? I'm considering a 1995 bed for mine.

Thanks

Re: Picture: '69 w/late model bed

I have to chime in also....DON'T DO IT!
The old style Cab with the "Modern Bed" are so dis-similar.
When I was looking for a 67-72 Chervy Truck, I can't tell you how many had the Newer Beds on them.
The minute I'd see the Bed, I wouldn't even FINISH reading the ad, I'd just go to the next ad.

I would like to aknowledge though, that I did NOT answer your initial post and offered you NONE of what you were asking for.
Why do I do it, I have no idea, because I DISPISE when otther people do it to me!

BOO-TAH!

In all seriousness though, go for what you like.
It's nice to get others opinions, but be your own Spirit.

Re: Picture: '69 w/late model bed

do what you like! i had a really nice 67 with a late bed and i just never could reconcile the differences in the lines and the wheel openings and the....etc with the later bed. sold the truck at a big discount and four years later bought another 67 stepside..and now i am happy! well, except for the very poor gas mileage i get with a built 454 with ls7 heads and intake and the gas funnel Demon carburetor!

Re: Picture: '69 w/late model bed

I bought mine with an updated bed and despised it. The good news is sometimes you can use the updated bed fact as a reason for them to come off the price. I talked the guy I bought mine from down 500 using the fact I would have to spend at least that much finding the correct bed. Below is before and after pictures of mine and it still needs a lot of work, but I already like it better with the original bed.

Re: Picture: '69 w/late model bed

We put together a '67 swb and the only bed we had at the time to use was a 90's sportside bed. Since I needed to use the truck around the farm the newer bed did not bother me that much.

I used the truck for a couple of years that way, but have since removed the bed and purchased a correct one that will be put on during the rebuild of the truck.

I admit the bed looked out of place, but it sure worked good for the time I needed it.

I guess the bottom line is customize or restore your truck the way you like.

Re: Picture: '69 w/late model bed

in order to modify the 90's style bed to actually line up with the 67-72 body lines is a major undertaking, I would go ahead and slam one on if you like the look, but without extensive modification I think the more you look at the stock 90's bodyline you will see how off the lines are and probably opt for a period correct bed, have a look in the classifieds on here though I'm sure you will be able to find either for a good price, also do a site search of this swap and you may find a few more answers. Biggest thing is it's your truck don't let all the flaming discourage you, even the show trucks on here get negative comments, myself, not a big fan of the newer boxes, but I never really liked stepsides to begin with, that's why they make more than one truck, have fun with your build
