After the road trip (need new seats)

I finally took the beast on her first little road trip this weekend.
800 miles and 4 tanks of gas later (got a respectable 13mpg)
I'm realizing its time to replace the stock seats if i ever want to do that again.
I've got the bucket/bench right now with the flip center seat.
I'm just wonderin what might bolt up to the subframe? so i can keep the center console but be sitin in somthin thats not gonna be throwin my back into spasms
And it just turned 1200 o'clock here on the west coast so happy Canada day to all ya'll other candians out there eh!

Hello fellow Victorian! Am I to understand you have stock bucket/bench and want to change? A guy at work has buckets and later model box (98, I think). I'll ask him what he had to do to make the seats fit. Happy Canada Day to you too! No fireworks in Vancouver but we gonna have a good show here in Victoria. Hope its not raining.

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other.
See which one gets filled first.

I took a 1000 mile trip on a set of those same style seats and they were in my opinion the most comfortale seats ever installed in these trucks. I also prefer them to the buckets in my 2000 Silverado. Maybe your seats are just plain worn out and need to be redone?

Anyway, there are a lot of seat options out there, some better than others (none better than the originals ). I personally hate later model seats in these trucks but it's not my back and butt involved here! One thing I do suggest is you don't separate the current buckets from the frame they are on. You can resell these for good money $300+ USD if complete, as they are somewhat rare and generally very desirable.

If I were close I'd trade any type of seat even for them, no question!

This would be a junk yard only item.
I recently came real close to buying a set of buckets out of a 66 or so Lincoln Continental. They were wide, very soft, black leather, and would have looked right at home in our trucks. To an untrained eye, they would look stock in there.
These seats were as nice as my recliner that I grow roots in whenever I sit there for more than 5 min...comfortable enough to sleep in and wake up with no sorness. (longhornjeff could back me up on that if he was still here)
Keep an eye in the wrecking yards...no one has to know your seat came from a ford or an import...as long as they look right in there and they don't hurt your butt...that is all that counts.
Oh, the seats I was looking at were in perfect condition the first day I saw them...I beat myself up for not asking (asuming they would cost too much) and when I went back the next week, some sh!t for brains had sat in the drivers seat with a screw driver in his back pocket. (ask me how I recognize this type of wound on a seat)
I asked anyways...30 bucks woulda gotten these seats and console...and the seats looked like you could drill a couple holes and bolt in...perfectly flat floor in the mounting points like our floor boards.
Been a week and I am STILL kickin myself in the ass fo that.
