Question TH400 detent kickdown wiring requirements?

I changed out a TH350 for a TH400 on the restoration. The TH 400 has an electric detent kickdown solenoid that I have mounted to the accellerator pedal assembly.

There are two electrical tabs on the switch on the pedal.
There is one electrical tab on the driver side of the TH400.

Can someone provide the cabling requirements for the kickdown switch?

Also, on the passenger side of the transmission there is a gold cadnium plated part with a male tube fitting and a screw in the center of the opening. This looks like a vacuum tube fitting, but I would like to verify this? What does the screw do?

Thanks, Greg.

Take a ign switched hot put it on one tab run the other to the prong on the side of the trans..

The part on the side that you refered to is a vaccum modulator you wanna hoook the line that was connected to the rear of your th350 to there you can turn that screw to adjust when it shifts but leave it be untill you drive it most of them require no tuning unless there in an extremely light vehicle or something

Thanks 1972c10. I was expecting that to be the correct set up but wanted to be sure since I've never done a TH400 before!

72C10, there were several reasons, the TH350 was in pretty bad shape, the truck was originally equipped w/ TH400 and even though it's debatable, the TH400 is seen in the market as being a tougher unit, to support the 475 HP I'll be throwing at it. It's also heavier which is generally a negative, but hey, I've so much unneccessary weight on this truck that didn't come into play in the decision.

Thats cool The th400 is a strong unit i like th350s to a point but 475 hp thats alot the 400 has more rotating mass wich deadens a few hp but i dont think you'll be worried about that
