Dart Heads & 383 fs

I'm parting out this 200 mile 383. I switched back to a stock 350 & don't need these parts. These items are for pickup only, NO SHIPPING. Please don't ask for shipping. I"m going to post here first before putting these on a local Craig's List.

All these items have about 200 miles total on them. The prices are firm.

Dart Iron Eagle Heads, 200cc runners, 2.02/1.60 stainless valves, 3/8" studs w/plates, 72cc chambers, Comp Cams springs, Procomp 1.5 & 1.6 full rollers with locks, w/harden generic ARP bolts, Moroso valley pan cover. $450 or $400 without the rollers, pan & bolts.

1973 Chevy 010 block, 4 bolt mains, 30 over, all machine work has been done for 383. Again, only 200 miles on this engine. Still has the cross hatching hone marks on the cylinders. Has balanced Eagle steel crank, rods w/arp bolts, Speed pro hyper pistons w/full floating pins. Crane 272H cam with lifters, Melling standard oil pump. Comes with external balanced flexplate & balancer. $500

I will sell the completed rotating assembly & the block separate. $275 for the block & $350 for the rotating assembly.

I live right off I-95, 25 miles north of Baltimore, Md.

I have $450 in block work alone.

Again, This must be picked up. If someone buys just the heads, I will ship the rollers, pan & bolts. I will post if the rollers are available separate.

Not sure what you mean by "whats the dish?? If you are asking the dish relief, I have no idea. With these heads, they had around 9.75 compression.

Better gas mileage & getting away from the high performance end. What's the HP? I Don't know. Never had it dyno. But it ran like a "Raped Ape".....

based on the pics its obviously not a "flat top" piston, which is why i asked whats the "dish" on the pistons. happen to have a part # on the pistons?

Re: Dart Heads & 383 fs

If by chance you change your mind on the shipping, or is someone local will ship em for me, I'd be interested?? I have had excellent luck with shipping heads with a valve cover on them and roll em up in cardboard. I have a FEDEX account so you could just wrap em and the FEDEX guy will stop and pick them up?? I know you said no shipping, but just in case? LMK

Re: Dart Heads & 383 fs

Any interest in just selling the rockers?

you say they're 1.5 and 1.6? Do you have two sets?

As I mentioned in the post, if the heads sell without the roller rockers, then yes, I'd sell them and ship. It is just one set. I used the 1.5 for intake & 1.6 for the exhaust.

Re: Dart Heads & 383 fs

I'm interested, but wondering why you tore it all back down? Was there an issue that led you to do that?

I re-used the intake, carb, dist, etc., for my other engine. This motor ran to rich, (as shown in pic) and wanted to make sure that the chambers & heads were still in like new condition, (which they are).

I have not taken the short block apart, other than the timing cover/chain, & the oil pan.

Selling this in parts will help someone who needs just certain things. And besides, I would never buy a whole high performance engine from someone I didn't know, & without hearing it run. (JMHO)

Re: Dart Heads & 383 fs

I'd kill to get my hands on the whole assembly, I just spent $2600 building a 383, and this one (shortblock) is $500, can anyone in Maryland drive to AZ to deliver it?? Honestly if I can get FEDEX freight to ship it, and not kill me I'd like to take the complete motor w/heads?? LMK do some checking on fedex freight. It would only take a pallet (home depot gives them away) and some cheapy rachet straps, I sent a complete 6.0 w 4l80e to FL from AZ that way with no issues?? LMK??
