Bought a motor for my 72 5.3L GenIII - anything i should know?

I just bought a 5.3L GenIII motor that came out of a 03 Silverado. It comes with all the electronics, only 44k miles.

I know i will need the wiring, swap to mech throttle body, ECU re-programed (To remove Emissions and VATS tables), new gas tank (baffled) and a few other things.

You guys think i will need much more?

Oh BTW i got the motor for $1500.00 I think it was a smoking deal!

Any input will be greatly appreciated! I will post pics of the motor when i get her home.

-Hart

The only thing I can think of are some new guages. Ask Hart_Rod, he is putting the same engine in his Burb project.

Will do.

I have read tons of stuff on this type of swap but i was just hoping that someone that has done it before would chime in with some money/time saving info.

Thx for the replies.

well i'm doing the 5.3 as well with the 4L60 e but I'm having it done so I can't help you with time saving info but if you talk with shifty or read his thread it definitely has some great info.
