Question on wiper lube ?

Is there a lube req. for the windshield wiper assembly ? I'm starting to put the '51 cab back together and seems like the moving parts are quite dry.

Merry Christmas to All.

Re: Question on wiper lube ?

I use lubriplate (white lithium) on pivots and bushings.

"seems like the moving parts are quite dry."

You're only supposed to use them when it rains!

Sorry, it's Christmas eve and I couldn't help myself. Hope I still get that tach from santa.

Re: Question on wiper lube ?

I'd go along with OrrieG, A minute dab of Lubriplate should do the job for years.

Coming up next: Blinker Fluid. Is synthetic really better?

Lubriplate makes some good products. I have a can of Superlube that I would probably use for this application.

Re: Question on wiper lube ?

Depends on if you have old school filament bulbs or new fangled LEDs...

Re: Question on wiper lube ?

As long as we are talking wipers I just noticed stock come in two lengths. I always bought the same for both side (16" I think). Can anyone tell me the correct length and which side the longer one goes one? Thanks in advance.

Re: Question on wiper lube ?

Orrie
Mine are the same length and were the original 12 in. blades when I got the truck back in 72.
Today, I get universal blades from O'reilly's and cut them down to 12 inches and slide them in and put the clips and strips back in.

O yea, me and the truck are lifelong pals................lucky for me the first wife didn't want any part of it.
