Who is running it and who's parts? I have it on the 83 I bought, but I am not sure about the amount of threads showing or angles of the ends.

I got parts to do my crossover and high steer from partsmike.com because it was cheaper that way and I could make it the way I wanted it. I had them machine my right side knuckle and then I made my linkages. I think I used a jeep wagoneer (SJ?) pitman arm, but can't remember exactly..

Used ORD on my 91 crew. They cut it to length (mine was 8" lift) and I also used the huge tie rod bar n links. Best lifted truck I've ever driven.

mine is ORD stuff as well. d60 arm, TREs, and tube as well as the crossover pitman. its pretty solid stuff. i always recommend a panhard bar to go with crossover to fully realize its beauty.

not to thread-jack but wouldn't the panhard bar fight the leaf springs as it tries to swing in an arc?

yessir. the panhard keeps the axle moving in the same arc as the steering when it is compressing or drooping and that keeps the steering from bump steering

the panhard controls the axle position side to side as the axle moves up and down. the leaf springs arc front to back as they compress so the two motions are not inhibited by one another. the leaves tend to deflect side to side as steering pressure is applied and can make the front feel a little wobbly. it also allows for some bump steer. the panhard makes the leaves more stable and fixes the axle motion so it matches the arc of the steering so bump steer and deflection are eliminated. the deflection is more notable the taller the springs.

$350 is a lot for the kit. I will buy the rod, ball end and make my brackets.
Thanks for the info Ryan I will install the panhard rod with the leaf springs. That bump steer sucks on the freeway.

Here it is. It's not a great representation of the standard Chevy truck. I have a four link and air bags sitting on a Ford d60. It's a bit of hot mess. The concept is basically the same for a leaf spring axle, but you are usually limited in the length you can make the panhard without hitting everything. ideal is equal length panhard and tie rod and matched angle.

The angle is the more crucial but the closer to equal length you get the panhard to the tie rod the better it will be.

I bought ruffstuff isterts and made all my own. uses dodge 1ton tie rod ends from the 80's, and I used heims for the track bar. drives great.

You basically made the ord kit with ruffstuff parts. Ord has the tie rod ends with no plastic or nylon wear insert in them. They are all metal with a preload spring to always keep the joint tight. Much heavier duty than any oem joint.

I guess this would require a 2WD steering box? And my sway bar would have to go? Would this pan-hard bar help with Death Wobble too?

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
