Re: Project "It's a Jimmy Thing"

Early in your build thread you blasted your frame, rears and transfer. What type of blaster and media did you use? If you did this in your shop how large is your compressor?
Thanks

Oh and AWSOME build!

Thanks!

For the frame, fenders, doors and the bigger items i used a local blast shop that rents a blast booth by the hour. They supply the black magic media and the equipment. I think that it was like $20.00 an hour. For all of the small stuff and the axles i bought a cheap harbor freight blaster. It was not ideal but it worked. I got black magic media from tractor supply and did it at home. i waited until i had a nice day and did it out in the lawn. It would make a serious mess in the shop.

Here is a link to the blaster

http://www.harborfreight.com/portabl...kit-37025.html

Here is a link to the media

http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...ng-media-50-lb

And here is a link to my compressor. It just barely kept up with the blaster.

It is finally all one color again. They just need to paint the tailgate and the inner fenders and I will bring it home. More pictures to come!

Imo your build is to nice to start raptor lining interior panels. Have a simple pattern stitched with the same fabric, it'll never look outdated that way.

I agree...the RL looks great where you currently have it, but your build is too classy to have it in the interior. Hope to see it at the dunes this summer!

Thanks guys for keeping me pointed in the right direction. You are right. I will have the panels upholstered with the same material and pattern as the seats.

I hope to make it up to the dunes this summer. You won't be able to miss me. I will be the guy driving like Grandpa scared i am going to put a scratch in it. LOL

Jim, what's going on? Been pretty quiet on your build lately.

Re: Project "It's a Jimmy Thing"

I got an under seat powered sub and installed that under the back seat. I am no expert on stereo systems but i think it sounds pretty good.

I also got the rest of the carpet laid down and installed the console i restored last year.

I am pretty much waiting on bumpers and the upholster to finish the seats and side panels and then i will call it done for a while.

Re: Project "It's a Jimmy Thing"

Oh yea, i almost forgot. I got the wheels and tires on. I went in a little bit of a different direction than what i was originally planning. They are Mickey Thompson 17x9 Classic III wheels with 33/12.5r17 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires.

I like that wheel/tire set up. I ended up doing the same thing. Went with bigger wheels and tried to keep the old school bullet hole wheel theme.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure if the late model style rims would have looked good. Good luck on your swap. Unfortunately, without a bunch of custom machining the advanced adapters 4l60e to NP205 kit is about the only way to go.
