Need help with air bag options

I was getting ready to order some drop springs for my blazer & got to looking, I can do air bags for not much more $$$. What bags do you experts recommend? 2600# front & 2500# rear? Should I spend more & get the heavier duty/ reinforced ones? Which brand is better & still economical? I am looking on suicide doors & the airlift 2b7 & 2b6 they say 300psi & are 1/2" dual port. Is that a good choice? They have cheaper than that & of course higher. I can't afford the compressor & such right now. But do I NEED the dual port bags? I eventually want to do front/back/side/side. My plan was 2) 5 gal tanks on each side behind the wheelwells, tie one in to the bags, use the other as a storage tank to fill the system tank if needed till I can get the compressor. Give me your suggestions, this will be my first air bag deal.

id recommend slam specialties re7 bags. thats what i just got, and i used to run rs-72's, these are just updated. you dont need dual port bags at all, im running single port bags, 1/2" line, 3/8" valves. 2-5gallon tanks and 2 compressors. almost identical to my last setup, and the front tires would leave the ground at 175psi. www.streetissuecustoms.com has some great deals, talk to Doug, tell him brian sent you.

Should I use the same bag front & rear?

i did. alot of people use convoluted bags(spelling ?) in the front and rear, or some use sleeve bags in the rear, when they do bag on axle. i suggest doing the same bags front and rear, and slam spec. are awesome bags.

I have no idea what mine are, but they do like the same size front and rear

What about the tank with no compressor? Can I get away with that for awhile & just air up the tanks when needed?

i suppose you could. what size lines do you plan on running, and do you plan on playing with them? if you just plan on running small line, and just using bags to perhaps have a nice ride, maybe air down at a cruise in then air back up, you should be fine. Im not completely sure though, i went all out my first time, and thats just because im a showoff and like playin around way too much.

Really the compressor & valves are the only holdup for me. I can afford to do the bags now but not all of it at one time. I was planning on 1/2" lines. Eventually I want to do FBSS. I was looking at an engine mounted compressor, looks like they make lots of air volume.

If you used dual port bags would you run air line to 1 bag then over to the bag on the other side eliminating a tee? but then you can't go side to side I guess?

you want to run a seperate line to every bag. if you run lines between the bags, when you turn, you will get air trasferred and get really bad body roll. honestly, i think the dual ports are for people who are trying to hop or be super fast. or i suppose you could run your air line with the fill valve into the one port, then a small amount of line and the dump valve off the other port. i had 3/8" valves, and 1/2" lines, with 175psi my front tires leave the ground abotu 1-2", fully loaded with a 327 and all. i have dual compressors and 2-5 gallon tanks.
