Thoughts about paint colors

Im getting my truck painted in November. While I do like the original color scheme (first pic), I also want to make it unique. Here are a few ideas I have.... The vette paint scheme is close to what I want. Im thinking silver top & blue on bottom with red in between. Feel free to share your opinions and pictures of different paint jobs.

Re: Thoughts about paint colors

i think it would look good with the silver left the way it is with the red outline like the vet and the top and very bottom the blue color. If I could photoshop i would lol

In my opinion I like the factory paint job over the others, but just my opinion. Here are a few pics to look at. One is not the same body style but you get the idea.

Ive also thought about going back with the factory lines but with the corvette colors...kinda like what 07NJrado suggested. I think that would look sweet!? Wish I could just buy the vette lol...

Re: Thoughts about paint colors

In my opinion, a straight 2 tone looks better or more custom than factory style. Like the black/silver above. Clean and simple. With that and a pinstripe vs the factory red sticker.

Here's my 2 tone. It has a small red pinstripe seperating the blue/silver

I like the bottom one. No stripe. Or maybe a different color stripe.

Re: Thoughts about paint colors

If it doesn’t cost you any more or just a little more I would go for the one of a kind paint job so when people see it they know it is something special and yours, my .02

I like that alot Big Mike. Exept I think I would go silver on top on mine. Im now thinking about something along these lines....my factory colors but in this order. Charcoal on top, dark blue on bottom with red in between. That way my interior will still match. This would be more realistic for my budget and for my woman not to kill me. something like below but with red in between...and my original colors...you like?

Re: Thoughts about paint colors

Personally I think you should break up the ALL GREY with another color, white, black, blue, yellow, something. Having owned a couple of all grey vehicles,I can honestly say it gets boring.

Yeah, Im thinking about maybe having some pin stipes added later or something to add a little color. Plus the Cyber Grey has some blue flake in it and my interior is blue so it should pop. I know greys also look better in person than in pics for the most part.

rs74- I like those gunmetal greys! My wheels are gunmetal grey!

Re: Thoughts about paint colors

Honestly I love the current original paint scheme you have now. I actually plan to ultimately do mine with the same colors as yours because I hate the color blue. This is the truck I'm using for my inspiration but plan to do a different wheel.

What color are you thinking about being a different shade? Blue, silver/gray or both. I think the truck pictured just above looks pretty nice. I would probably omit the red striping but that is just me. Also not a big fan of the blazer/suburban headlights. I guess the truck has to be done just right in order for me to like that look.

I am a fan of the quad light setup myself. The paint is one of the things that gets me hung up on my truck. It is alot of money to be putting into your truck because once its on there its hard to go back if you dont like it. So think about it long and hard since it will probably be one of your biggest expenses and unless you just have a ton of money to throw around. In that case send me some.

Yes thinking about going with a different blue & grey. I will keep my quad lights(Im not a big fan of the sub front ends on trucks either). Thinking about using the factory two tone lines with gm imperial blue or lemans blue with gm cyber grey and a red seperator stripe. Shaving the mirrors and side emblems.
But I change my mind about once a week so.... stay tuned. Always looking at pics of these trucks and getting ideas! Would like to see some factory style two tones with different/newer colors....
Man if I had tons of money this would be much easier
