Re: WTB NOS Olive green steering wheel for my 72
I have an original that I took off my truck. It isn't in that good of shape, but it is original. It has a crack above the horn button and one on the left and right sides of the wheel. It also has a crack on the bottom of the wheel. Like I said, it isn't in very good shape, but it is original. Let me know if you want a picture of it. I also have the horn button, but it is faded.

Re: WTB NOS Olive green steering wheel for my 72
something looks a little fishy to me on that ebay wheel. nearly all of the grain is gone, yet the color is great. looks to me like it may have been re-dyed.

Re: WTB NOS Olive green steering wheel for my 72
I noticed the way the wheel looked different as well. I need a green wheel to but I am not at that stage yet. A few weeks back there was one on ebay that was awesome I bid on it and it went for around $ 300

I am pretty sure that ebay one has been painted. My Blazer has the dark olive interior and that color green on the ebay wheel looks off.

Ditto on the ebay wheel. Looks like a refinish job.

Re: WTB NOS Olive green steering wheel for my 72
we have one on the olive green 71 thats getting primed, i believe the stock wheel is going to be changed. I'll check tomorrow on it and get you a price.
Rick went and looked at the pics, it's already been changed. I will however check and see if he has one around.

here is what the ebay guy replied to me about the paint. "you know its hard to tell I looked at the metal in the hub I can't tell if it was but the horn button looks like the red in it has been touched up, not really sure" not so sure i believe him he has a 67-68 wheel too that was obviously refinished. and the paint in the green one looks to metalic like too me.

Re: WTB NOS Olive green steering wheel for my 72
Jc,I`d expect to pay $500 for one if you find one. So,if this guy won`t budge I`d consider giving it to him.I have a saddle one that I wouldn`t take less than $500 for,if I planned on selling it.I paid $325 for it in`91 and was just happy and amazed to find one.I doubt there ever was much of a surplus on the colored wheels. There were black-only available from the dealers as replacement parts by the time I ever started scrounging N.O.S.(around 1980)
