Cool replacing rear main seal in a 2000 silverado, NEED HELP

what is the proper procedure?

drop the transmission and transfer case, then do i need to remove the oil pan too?

what else do i need to know for this? thanks

Are you sure its the rear main? Reason I ask, my daily driver is an '02. I was convinced the rear main was leaking. Turns out it was the oil sending unit. Just unplug wires @ sending unit, if the top of it is wet that may be your problem.
