whats the difference in 67-72 and 73-87

4x4 suspension? I thought the rear was different somehow... but I don't know how... just wondering because I am thinking about getting some 73-87 blazer rear leaf spring mounts and putting them on my 71 K10...

and when I do this should I get the 73-87 lift kit? or does it matter??

The things that will matter are, the width of the leaf springs, the size of the head of the center bolt in the springs, and blocks if you are using them. One other thing you want to pay attention to is the size of the u bolts that come with the lift kit. I have never found a kit that came with the proper size. If you are using blocks I would recomend buying them without the bolt kit then find bolts with the proper diameter. For that see http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=202576

I think the 73 - 87 ones are longer too... which would require new/relocated pertches on your frame.

73-87 leafs are mounted further apart on the axle. Leafs are diofferenc size also. Best bet would be to cut the mounts off your 72 axles and weld them onto the newer axle. then use all the 72 hardware (leafs ect). Get the lisft kit for the 72.

If you are using blazer parts I would keep the lift lit to match the doner.
