I got bored so here are pics of my blazer

I was trying to put some new ones up but I couldn't find the cable for my camera so here are some old ones. I used to thing mine was in pretty bad shape but i've been told by Critter that mine is practically show quality (compared to his of course).

I do have to admit though, I do have a dam solid tailgate ( i'll get better pics later)

I like to call this one: Unfinished business

Like I said, i'll get some better ones later. By the was, does anyone else have that style wheel, I can't recall if anyone does or not.

You definitely have some good sheet metal. However, that big empty area under the hood is really slowing you down! When is it going to be drivable? Let me know when you need some help.

Re: I got bored so here are pics of my blazer

That thing is practically show material when compared to mine too. But, I can fire mine up and move it!

These TX trucks do keep some parts of the tubs and etc in good shape. Mine lived in and around El Paso, TX for 31 years before it moved to Corpus. My tailgate is cherry as well. Too bad the winshield frame is shot. How is yours? I keep hearing that the hot-weather states have issues with shrinking the seals and when water gets in it's all over. That happened to mine anyway.

Re: I got bored so here are pics of my blazer

There is one thing that bothers me on mine and that is the drivers side door. It rained a couple days ago and this morning I opened the door and I heard water sloshing around inside it. I ain't no expert but that can't be a good thing. Oh and my windshield frame is solid.

You probably just need some new window felt around the glass. It sounds like water is running down the outside of the glass and collecting inside the door. Not too big of a problem.

My 70' Jimmy used to fill the doors when it rained too. I'm a cheap SOB so I just drilled some drain holes.

Re: I got bored so here are pics of my blazer

I actually cranked mine up and took it around the block. The battery was dead and I need to change the oil and put in an air filter but other than that, it seemed to run ok.

Re: I got bored so here are pics of my blazer

Okay here are some new ones

This has me bothered. Critter says that the PO must have covered up the hole where the ashtry went but it looks so good that I'm convinced it must have been like that from the factory. I know the crack is there but why would anyone cover that up???????

This is a reciever hitch that the PO also put on there. It's just some homemade thingamajigger, it'll be coming off soon if anybody wants it.

Well one more thing the PO did wrong. This is some sort of sunroof. Yeah, it pretty much sucks.

Apparently this Blazer has had more than it's fair share of mirrors

I guess this is supposed to be a problem area on these trucks since the battery sits right over top it but mine is pretty darn solid.

One last one of my MSD box location. I like that fact that it's hard to see from the outside.

Is a tach a rare option, my sticker says it came with one but it's gone (more shadows of the PO).

And you probably need to clean out the crud in the bottom of the door. There are drain holes in the thing so water shouldn't be standing long enough to slosh.

I'm with Critter. Look at the lines I highlighted below. Those don't look like what the factory would have done had they decided to leave off the ashtray. I'll be a quick look under the dash will resolve any question as to whether the ashtray was removed.

Yeah it really is. I haven't gone too far in it. I need the bumpers and all the lights/signals put on and working before I take it too far. I just can't wait to get it street worthy so that I can cruise around in the spring and summer with the top off. That has to be a great feeling I can't wait! We're gonna have to get together and take em wheeling or just for a cuise out to Canyon Lake and BBQ this summer.

Re: I got bored so here are pics of my blazer

Hey just to answer your ealrier question, yes the tack was a fairly rare option. They made their way into a lot of the bigger trucks, my dad has two old straight trucks with tacks. They aren't impossible to find if you wanted to replace one, I saw a nice looking complete dash w/ tack at a swap meet this summer for $225, but I think that was a deal. It was gone by the time I got back to it, or I would have an extra.
