What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

I was upstate last week and fired up my truck and found out that the reason gas had been leaking from the in line filter was that the stupid clamp had come loose , so after tightening that i ran the truck around my property there and then I started finding that gas was leaking from my temporary repair to the filler neck so ive started a feeler for those parts.
While upstate i had a small accident with a deer and my new(er) car so i spent some days fooling with that and the insurance so i could get that repaired. Its amazing how well the car stood up to impact and how much damage is actually there when it looks like so little
The wife and I went shopping for a mini truck and i found a ranger i like so we bought that and hopefully ill have that picked up and added to the stable this week
Last night we went to Atlantic City and saw a pretty good country music band called North of Mason Dixon or Nomad.. they tour in the NY NJ PA area and if youre local should check em out if you like country the young couple ib the pics with us is my step daughter and her boyfriend who tagged along and lost a round of beer pong to us old farts.... beware youngins us old folks arent as lame as you think!!!!
How about you all?

Took all 4 wheels off today and cleaned and polished them inside and out. My mothers powerball was well used.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/09 edition

Spent Saturday nursing a lower back strain that has been going on since Thursday. Felt better today went to a car show and won a "Top 25" out of 85 registered cars and trucks.

I decided this afternoon that it was time for my 17 year old to take a "real" spin in my "Baby Square". My girls used to sit in this truck when they were 5-7 years old and pretend to be taking a trip. We had a cool little ride around the neighborhood, fun for sure.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

I went and put a bunch of parts in storage. While I was there, my buddy that is storing my truck said it blew the radiator hose up. After a couple trips to the parts store, the hose is fixed, and the temp gauge works, too. Once we get moved out of our current hose, I plan on spending a little "quality time" with the old truck, to fix a lot of little stuff.

Congratulations on another well dsereved award. You should be smiling from ear to ear thinking about that first hot rod run with your pretty young girl. That's another priceless moment in life.

I had a really hectic week at work due to the rain delaying my plans all week. In between the crazy days, I managed to get the county courthouse and get me new personalized plated picked up. They say the same thing, but I wanted one of the latest style they had to choose from.

I also found time to get the A/C working again in my 77. I replaced the thermal relay module, but the new one was nothing like the old one so it took some modifying to make it work.

Friday I took it to my local hotrod mechanic and had him recharge the system. It took 1.5 pounds so I guess that's why it wasn't cooling well before I broke it.

Saturday morning I got up early and went on a hotrod run to Galveston. I left my house and met a buddy then we went to Spring and meet a dozen more cars. From there we ran South to Galveston as cars feell in line along the way. By the time we got to our destination, there were 30+ cars in our mini "Power Tour".

We had a parking lot reserved for our group, so we visited a while then headed out to the "Strand District". After a couple hours of playing tourist, we had lunch then went to the beach. Later that night I hit the local cruise spot.

Today, I cleaned my garage. I'll spare the boring details, but one side of it looks great.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

I hate working on this old house. It's never ending. 16K invested in the last 2 months and my truck got none of it But the carpet will be installed this month and I can have my bedroom and garage back. Right now the cab of my truck is stuffed full of suit cases that should be in the closets.

Moral to the story is never buy an older home cause it was cute.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

Got back mid-week from a trip "up north"...and spent a couple wife/kid-free evenings working on the house and my truck. I finally got my glassed dashpad, speaker brackets, and shifter console back from the painter...had enough time to install the pad and brackets. Other than that, spent a lot of time holding kids, changing diapers and giving bottles...lol.

Older homes are the only way to go IMO. They are usually built better, and have more character. Our house is 60 years old, and we love it.

This house was built by unempolyed carpenters who owed the owner for a bar tab. Every time I turn around there's something else hashed out.

Great pics N2TRUX... the '77 looks as good as usual.

Did a little BBQ, worked around the house and boiled up some spiced shrimp; it was good weekend except for the waist band.

I got my buddies 383 built and put in his nova. We have to button up a few loose ends and get it fired up. hopefully next weekend. I didn't get anything done on the truck though.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

did nothing sat. sunday/today spent the early morning and late evening getting the bellhousing bolts and such loose on the 84 to get ready to pull the trans. Got too hot and got sick in the morning after finishing up on the top end getting things loose. Took a break til 6:30 or so, then finished up, got like 3 crossmember bolts just hanging in waiting to be removed, and 2 bellhousing bolts holding the trans in place, it's ready to fall out. Might get a chance to get it done tomorrow.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

During the week made my truck more driver friendly, ever little dip or bump in the road my tires would hit the inner fenders, I finally got tired off for driving that way for the past two years found some stubby bump stops wile I wondered in to petboys also a spectre universal throttle bracket at times the throttle would bind up and it would be hard to press down and I would have to punch it to release, so put that puppy on and no more problems, then today went to a cruise in with my car club and met a forum member and installed some led tail light circuit boards from lmc

Unfortunately I didn't take any more. It's a project truck that he started 8 years ago. He just pulled it out again and added the fresh wheels and drop.
