Debating if I should
OK,
I want opinion's on if it's worth it to take the driver's side fender loose and take the shim's out of it to see if the gap closes up enough to hide the rubber bumper like on the passenger side. The door want close good either on this side. The passenger side seem's look better and the door closes fine even with new rubber installed on both door's. I took these pictures to help with my problem. In the pictures you can see the rubber hood bumper on the driver's side and barely see it on the passenger side. Pic 2 and 4. Tell me what you think. Driver's side: 1. 2. Passenger side: 3. 4.

Re: Debating if I should
Me too! I just hate to take a chance of scratching it up. I guess I need to though or it's going to drive me crazy in the long run.

Re: Debating if I should
If you can get the wipers and cowl grill off without scratching anything, it should be pretty easy to do it.

Re: Debating if I should
Cover your edges with masking tape first; should help protect the paint.

Re: Debating if I should
I`d do it.On the passenger side back corner I`d be concerned about the paint busting off that edge, too.

Re: Debating if I should
Took the cowl off tonight. Took shim out of front of the fender under the cowl. Tightened it back up and it didn't make any differance. What else do I need to do to get this gap right.

Re: Debating if I should
Well I got most of it out. It's a lot better than what it was. The hood hindges where the problem. When we installed the hood we had it to far up on the driver's side hindge. Took a few tries but it's a lot better. I can live with it now. THANKS!
