Doe's anyone know were to get these rosette head rivets??? I know its a touchy subject but I removed one not thinking and don't want to have any issues!!!!!!!! Thanks

I have seen a few sellers on ebay selling vin plate rivets. I know I have seen them for 60's cars and trucks. I hope this helps.

I want to say there were some on the 67-72 parts board a while back . Might try a search over there .

Here's one place. the sites under construction but they used to have them, maybe they have a phone number up. IIRC they're like $25 a piece.

How hard could it be?

i have, used a tiny 3 corner file, turned out ok, took alot of work though getting them even.

epoxy your plate on;cut a couple of rivet heads off a donor unit with a sharp wood chisel;epoxy them on;if done carefully will look 100% correct

Be sure to check local inspection laws before making your own rivets. I know in CA, or at least it used to be if the vin tag is altered including rivets, the state could take your vin plate and replace it with a state id plate, and in some cases the cars are just crushed if you can't prove what they want you to prove. I left mine alone and they masked it nicely when I got it painted.
