Louvered Hood?
So I live in Western New York and I'm thinking of trading for a louvered hood this summer. Would this work out as long as I swap it out for a normal when snowfall comes?

I ran with no hood for allmost a year rain sleet and snow with no problems.
But I had the PCV sealed and engine breather inside the air-cleaner (big 454) and modified factory ram air so water wouldn't get in. Go for it, the engine will run so much cooler! |

My old man louvered the hood on his Mustang several years ago and he installed a deflector of some kind under it. As I recall, it was spaced away from the louvers and it had formed lips along the edges and a water drain hose.
I don't know if that's just something they do up here in "rain country" or what, but I suppose that could be an option too.

we used to plug hood scoops when necessary back in the day, look at it for awhile and I'll bet you can come up with a way to use it in the winter...
