Stressful day....

Goes back awhile, beginning in October of '07. Dropped off my '69 for body and paint, with verbal agreement to have it done for the Power Tour '08.

Fast forward to today.

With essentially nothing being done, aside from disassembly....picking it up and taking it to another body/paint shop.

The first shop has a very talented young guy, who really wants to do my truck to showcase his talents. However, in September of '08, he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Since then, he's been up and down depending on his day-to-day health and the treatments (chemo/radiation). It's a given that he wants to do the truck. He's adamant about it and doesn't want me to pick it up. In fact, he got testy...I think the meds are an issue because he's never shown that kind of animosity. At 300+ lbs, he's big and stout enough to make his presense known. So, it was good that it didn't get any worse in the confrontation with my youngest son.

Anyhow, gonna be picking it up....and taking it elsewhere. Gotta talk to a guy in the morning, and taking a bunch of pix to him of what I have to work with. All I want is the body and paint and assembled to the point that I can go from there...just a bright, shiny roller. Yep, that'll do it.

Re: Stressful day....

I hate to hear that about how long that your truck has been down, but three years is way to long. I understand how stressful this kinda move can be, i went thru it with my Jimmy and a family friend that got hurt! good luck to ya on the next body shop!
