anyone running the C4 suspension front and rear?

First off sorry if this has been asked many times.. but for some reason the search features wont open/ work on my phone.

Anyways.. Im planning to run C4 suspension under my 51 but I've got a ton of question's!

Anyone here bought the expensive box tubing crossmember setup to run up front?
What flexibility does it allow for wheel width and backspacing? I have 18x8" 4.5" backspace wheels I'm looking to run.
for the rear setup.. there again I guess the wheel choice has a major role, but do most guys leave it full width or narrow the drive tubes?

Anyond have pics!?

Which one are you looking at? Progressive's or Flat Out's? I have Flat Out's front C4 installed on a 51 Suburban but haven't gotten to choosing rims yet. But in mock ups it really doesn't look like there's much room to play around.

I was looking at flat out's narrowed rack set... if I read it right it sets the track width at about 57"?

Re: anyone running the C4 suspension front and rear?

My front measures 59 1/2" I think brake face to brake face (according to my notes in my little book), but that's because I used 86 C4 parts. I think 87 and newer are wider. I'll go outside in a bit and measure it for sure.

Whats the specs on the wheels your running? Im wondering if a 59" suspension setup is going to be to wide for the 18x8" 4.5" backspacing wheels I have to tuck up inside the fenders and be able to turn at all.

Re: anyone running the C4 suspension front and rear?

Not sure on specs but a lot of the guys running the Mustang II are running 17x7 or 18x7.

I'm planning on the C4 setup, here are my notes:

Stock AD rear width, flange to flange 60-62” (not sure on stock front)
88-96 vette Front 60-1/2”, rear 62-1/2” (rotor face to face)

The earlier C4 is a bit narrower like 1/2 inch. Flatout has the specs on their page.

The lower you go the wider it gets obviously.

Re: anyone running the C4 suspension front and rear?

Yeah guess the earlier pre 87 front is an inch or approx narrower. Wonder if the arms are different or the spindles?

Does anyone have some pics?!? Anyone...

Re: anyone running the C4 suspension front and rear?

I think.....the kit itself is pretty good if you install it the way they want you too....if you want to do a bigger notch in the back to lower it more, you end up cutting everything up but atleast it's all there to start from. I have only seen one truck finished and the guy said he loved the way it drove......I hope to know myself in a couple more weeks....

Re: anyone running the C4 suspension front and rear?

Yeah I'll probably end up buying a front crossmember but out back is just to easy to setup and build plus my rear will be narrowed and the butterfly mount wont be full width so it fitz inside the narrow frame.
