'65 GMC 1 ton dually?

I have a chance to get my hands a a '65 GMC 1 Ton dually. I was looking through a catalog and I saw that they didn't have any parts for 1 ton's and nothing about dually's. What my question is is how rare are these trucks/ were there any made or has this been converted from a newer model. I'm usuakk yon the '67-'72 boards so please take it easy on me. I haven't seen the truck yet but I'm told its a solid truck has GMC's big v6 a 305 with a 12 ft. dump flat bed. I was looking at the truck for a wood hauler but if it is a rare bird I might just fix it up.

Dual wheel 1 ton cab and chassis were very common back then. There were no dually pickups, but single wheel 1 ton pickups were available with the stepside box. Before you get it, I'd check into the availability of brake and suspension parts, they might be getting hard to find. Also, make sure it is a 1 ton and not a 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 ton, which may look similar but the parts would be even harder to find. Hope that helps.

GM did make duallys in 1960-66 in Chevy & GMC. I've known a few people locally, one was a 1960 C30, and the others were GMC's (1963, x2 65's).
Also here's a pic of Jolly's '65 1 ton Dually. '65 GMC 1 ton Dually
Also here's some more info on his truck , also he redid the brakes on this truck. shoot him an email, and he'll be glad to to answer any questions on these trucks.

I wonder how it would look to put a fleet side bed on one and graft stepside fenders onto it. Or maybe a smaller fender. In other words, try to make a factory appearing dually pickup from a dually flatbed. Could be an interesting project.
