Looking for some help w/ dropping my 70
I have a 1970 C-10 long bed and Im looking to drop it down a bit. I was thinking a 2/4 drop but I'm not sure. I'm getting ready to purchase some wheels (18's) and was not sure how much wheel well will be left after the drop. Does anyone have any pictures of a 2/4 drop. or could point me in the right direction. I want to have a smooth ride still but not so much of the 4 wheel drive look. Thanks for any help. Here is a picture of what I'm working with now.

It really depends on the height of the tire.. I would say 3 in the front and 4 in the rear..with a 26 to 28 inch tall tire

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Im going with 18's with 235/45 tires on the front and 255/45 tires on the rear. Thanks again for the picture.

welome squirrel, it looks like the rear of your truck has already been lowered. Always best to know where you are, so you can determine the route to take for where you want to be.
I'm personally a fan of the 4-6 drop with a big swaybar in the front. My truck sits on the bumpstops with tat setup and rides great without a load. you may want to check out the suspension forum to look at different ride heights and suspension setups.

Just for comparison...
 Since you are planning on dropping a "middle child" ('69-70) check out my build thread in my signature (Project Blank Slate) for the complete install and upgrade to disc brakes and 4.5/6" drop. You will be surprised how well a 4.5/6" drop will ride, trust me. Here's my '69 running a 4.5/6" drop:
